Newsletter eMailing Policy

The Telegraph Office takes great pride in sending quality, targeted email newsletters. Our newsletters are only sent to individuals who have "opted-in" — given permission to receive our newsletters via email in strict accordance with the Federal Trade Commission‘s (FTC)‘CAN-SPAM Act of 2003. We do not send "Spam" (non-permission based emails).

It is important to note that we do not allow email address lists to be "purchased" and delivered through our network. There is no such thing as an opt-in list that can be purchased or acquired. Reason: Once an address list is sold, a subscriber on that list has no way of knowing who bought the list and where their address is circulating. They have not given permission to have their address sold to other parties. Any individual or company telling you otherwise is selling you a dirty list. This will almost always cause your account to be closed and your own domain name, company name, and even your name to be blacklisted worldwide. Once you are blacklisted for spamming, you are forever marked on the Internet and even sending mail from your own domain becomes difficult.

If we receive complaints about a mailing you send, we will ask you for evidence of the person opting-in. If that evidence is non-existent or if the complainant signs an affidavit that he or she never subscribed (opted-in) to your list, your account will be immediately closed. If we further find evidence that the mailing was intentionally sent out knowing the list is bad, or if we find you have received complaints in the past and have not taken action to remedy the problem, we will turn this information over to the Federal Trade Commission for their action. When in doubt, ask us for assistance and advice when trying to build your list.

We take Spam very seriously, as the repercussions could include going to prison if you violate the Can-Spam Act. The Can-Spam law is very serious. There have been stories in the press about people being fined by the FTC and a few companies whose owners have had their computer seized and the logs searched for evidence.

We thank you for your understanding and compliance.
